TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) has rebounded after the United States President, Donald Trump, postponed the tariff imposition. IHSG strengthened by 5.02 percent to 6,267.8 points in the first trading session today, Thursday, April 10, 2025.
"The IHSG managed to rise amidst market optimism following the announcement of Trump's tariff postponement," said the Analyst Team from Samuel Sekuritas in a written statement on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
By the end of today's first trading session, 569 stocks gained, 166 declined, and 161 remained unchanged. This activity resulted in a transaction value reaching Rp9.6 trillion, with a trading frequency of 759,499 times, and a trading volume of 138.5 million lots.
BRI Bank shares (BBRI) became the most actively traded stock in today's first session, with a transaction frequency of 39,392 times, followed by BMRI (32,826) and BBCA (27,878).
In terms of volume, GoTo Gojek Tokopedia (GOTO) shares became the most traded in the first session today with a trading volume of 32.4 million lots, followed by BUKA (4.1 million) and BUMI (4.0 million).
"Not a single sectoral index weakened in the first session today," said the Samuel Sekuritas Team.
Meanwhile, the raw material sector index (IDXBASIC) (+8.9 percent), which was previously pressured in the previous session, became the sector index that experienced the highest increase in today's first session, supported by the strengthening of several mining stocks such as INCO (+13.5 percent), DAAZ (+13.4 percent), ANTM (+11.8 percent), and MDKA (+23.8 percent), followed by the cyclical consumer sector index (IDXCYCLIC) (+6.2 percent) and infrastructure (IDXINFRA) (+5.8 percent).
In today's first session, several large-cap stocks that had been under pressure for several sessions managed to rally and support the market. They include BMRI (+7.2 percent) and BBRI (+4.4 percent), both are expected to declare dividends shortly. Further, BREN (+18.8 percent) and TPIA (+6.6 percent).
The top five gainers in today's first session (based on the percentage of increase) are as follows.
CENT (+31 percent to Rp76 per share)
FUTR (+27.9 percent to Rp87 per share)
SHID (+24.6 percent to Rp835 per share)
BESS (+24 percent to Rp775 per share)
MDKA (+23.5 percent to Rp1,285 per share)
Meanwhile, the top five losers in the first session today (based on the percentage of decrease) are as follows.
IKAN (-9.9 percent to Rp145 per share)
BIMA (-9.8 percent to Rp46 per share)
HOMI (-8.4 percent to Rp218 per share)
KBLV (-5.8 percent to Rp113 per share)
SAFE (-5.6 percent to Rp167 per share)
The U.S. stock market closed higher on Wednesday, April 9: Dow (+7.87 percent), S&P 500 (+9.52 percent), Nasdaq (+12.16 percent). The U.S. market surged sharply (Dow and Nasdaq recorded their highest daily gains in over a decade) after President Trump announced a 90-day postponement of reciprocal tariff imposition for several countries, except China.
Several Asian markets also strengthened; by the end of today's first session, the Hang Seng index strengthened by +1.7 percent, as well as Shanghai (+0.9 percent), Kospi (+5.6 percent), Nikkei (+8.2 percent), and STI (+5.5 percent).
