TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Team Sweden, a collaborative effort between the Swedish Embassy, Business Sweden, and Swedish companies, is working closely with the Indonesian Health Ministry to develop the Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership (SISP) Healthcare platform. Launched in early 2023, SISP Healthcare aims to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing between the two countries in five key areas: cancer care, critical emergencies, diabetes, maternal and child health, and digitalization.
Swedish Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN, Daniel Blockert, emphasized the shared commitment of Sweden and Indonesia to achieving sustainable development goals. He highlighted that SISP Healthcare aligns closely with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly the goal of ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all.
“Several Swedish companies have expressed their intention to contribute to the Indonesian government's agenda for sustainable healthcare services next year,” said Blockert on Monday, December 2, 2024.
Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha, Secretary-General of the Indonesian Health Ministry, expressed hope that these commitments would translate into concrete initiatives. He noted that three Indonesian doctors from Airlangga University (Unair) are currently enrolled in the Twinning Doctoral Program at the Karolinska Institute.
Kunta explained that their research focuses on maternal, neonatal, and child health in Indonesia, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of these critical areas.
Furthermore, Indonesia's ongoing Quick-Win programs, such as free health check-ups, align with the goals of SISP by promoting equitable access to healthcare and building a resilient healthcare system in the face of climate change.
“Through the SISP Program, we perceive a strong collaborative effort that aligns with Indonesia's national vision and accelerates the president's priority programs, making significant strides towards sustainable health for all,” Kunta remarked.
Team Sweden, in collaboration with the Indonesian Health Ministry, has outlined a comprehensive plan for 2025. Under the five key areas, activities such as high-level dialogues, capacity building, doctoral programs, and the development of anemia academies in public health programs will be implemented. Through SISP Healthcare, all key stakeholders are committed to supporting Indonesia's sustainable health goals by addressing challenges and maximizing opportunities.
Team Sweden is a network of public organizations, institutions, and companies promoting Swedish exports and investments. The network was established to provide support to Swedish companies in their internationalization efforts. SISP, an annual dialogue platform, fosters collaboration between Sweden and Indonesia to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda. The inaugural SISP was launched in 2020 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sweden and Indonesia.
