TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government is set to distribute food aid worth US$12 million or around Rp200 billion to Palestinians in Gaza. The President Director of the Indonesian Agency for International Development (Indonesian AID), under the Ministry of Finance, Dalyono, said the aid is part of Indonesia's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people.
Dalyono explained that the aid will be distributed through cooperation with the World Food Programme (WFP). "The food aid will be distributed through the World Food Programme, amounting to approximately US$12 million or Rp200 billion," said Dalyono at a media briefing in Bogor, West Java, on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
The aid, Dalyono detailed, will be realized through two main programs: food aid for public kitchens in Gaza and health supplements for pregnant women, children, and high energy biscuits for Gaza residents.
"The total aid worth Rp200 billion is undergoing the distribution process through the WFP. This is part of the President's commitment to show Indonesia's great concern for the Palestinian people who are facing a humanitarian crisis," he said.
In addition to the Gaza aid, Indonesia also provides support for Palestinian farmers in the West Bank by assisting in avocado product development. The program, Dalyono said, is the result of cooperation between Indonesia AID and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which sent Palestinian farmers to Indonesia to undergo training at the Malang Agricultural Training Center.
"The cooperation with JICA is valued at around Rp2 billion. JICA covers Rp1 billion to bring participants to Indonesia, while domestic necessities during the training are covered by Indonesia AID," said Dalyono.
