TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) carries out integrated post for Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 starting from December 18, 2024 to January 5, 2025.
"Ministry of Transportation will conduct monitoring and integrated post starting from December 18, 2024 to January 5, 2025 or for 19 days," said Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi in Jakarta, as quoted from Antara, Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
He added, this refers to the school holidays starting on December 18, 2024, the Christmas and New Year holidays on December 25 and 26, 2024, and the spread of holidays on Saturday - Sunday December 21 and 22, 2019, December 28 and 29, as well as January 4-5, 2025, and New Year's Eve on January 1, 2025.
Dudy stated that the national peak days for outbound trips are expected to be on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024, and on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2024. However, an increase in mobility has been observed since December 20, 2024.
As for the preference of national return days, it is estimated to occur on January 1, 2025, and January 2, 2025. However, there is still a return flow until January 5, 2025.
The main prediction for the use of private vehicles is 53.78 percent or around 59.52 million vehicles. While the prediction for using public transportation based on revised data is 6.54 million people for buses, 3.44 million people for trains, 4.14 million people for planes, 3.40 million people for ferries, and 2.38 million people for ships.
According to the survey results of the Transportation Ministry on the national movement potential of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025, the potential movement of the public reaches 110.67 million people.
This potential movement covers all provinces in Indonesia spread out over 22 days from December 18, 2024, until January 8, 2025.
The potential inter-provincial movement reaches 55.86 million people and the potential intra-provincial movement reaches 54.81 million people.
