TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) canceled 23 train trips passing through Area Operation (Daop) 4 in Semarang, on the northern coast of Central Java, due to the flooding that still inundates the railway between Pekalongan Station and Sragi Station, on Monday, January 19, 2026.
The Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang, Luqman Arif, stated that the flood has receded below the track level. However, he said, several train trips were canceled for safety.
Several canceled train trips include Argo Brono Anggrek, Argo Merbabu, Ciremai, Menoreh, Kamandaka, Tegal Bahari, Kaligung, Argo Muria, Argo Merbabu, Sembrani, Ambarawa Ekspres, and Tawangjaya.
According to him, PT KAI continues to make various efforts to expedite the normalization of the tracks so that train trips can gradually resume. "PT KAI apologizes for the disruption of the travel plans of prospective passengers," he said.
He made sure that everyone received a full refund for their canceled train tickets.
Meanwhile, with the receding flood, the railway between Pekalongan Station and Sragi Station can now be crossed at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
He mentioned that although the track is now passable with restrictions, several train trips still need to adjust their operational patterns until the infrastructure conditions are declared safe.
The railway on the northern coast of Central Java has been cut off since Sunday, January 19, 2026, due to flooding in Pekalongan. The flood inundated the railway between Pekalongan Station and Sragi Station.
