TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's state-railway company, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), for the Bandung region (Daerah Operasi II Bandung), has canceled the journey of KA Siliwangi due to land subsidence beneath the railway track on the section between Cibeber and Lampegan stations.
“Safety is non-negotiable. Therefore, we declare that the Cibeber–Lampegan railway line cannot be used temporarily until the repair process is completed,” said Kuswardojo, Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daerah Operasi II Bandung, as quoted in a statement on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Initial information about the land subsidence on the railway line at Km 74+9/0 of the Cibeber–Lampegan section was received by KAI personnel at 7:55 p.m. WIB on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Officers found that the track structure was compromised due to the subsidence, which was considered dangerous for train operations.
PT KAI Daerah Operasi II Bandung deployed an emergency response team to the location for further inspection. The results confirmed that the railway line was unsafe for train travel.
The company then decided to cancel the KA Siliwangi (345) service on the Cipatat–Sukabumi route, with the train operating only up to Cianjur Station. Meanwhile, the scheduled departure of KA Siliwangi on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 05:15 a.m. WIB was also canceled.
“We understand that this cancellation causes inconvenience to passengers,” said Kuswardojo.
As compensation, affected passengers can request a full refund of the ticket price, excluding the booking fee. Ticket cancellations can be processed through the Access by KAI application or directly at station ticket counters within a maximum period of 7x24 hours.
Kuswardojo added that PT KAI Daerah Operasi II Bandung is working to accelerate repairs so that train operations can return to normal.
“We are making every possible effort to handle the situation in the field so that the track can quickly return to normal and train operations can run smoothly. We also express our gratitude for the understanding and patience of our customers,” he said.
