TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The chief of Katulampa Dam in Bogor, West Java, Andi Sudirman, noted that the Water Level (TMA) in the Ciliwung River has reached 80 centimeters, resulting in the dam being on Flood Alert Level 4.
Andi said that the TMA in the Ciliwung River had risen up to 220 centimeters on Alert Level 1 last night, Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 10.00 PM WIB (Western Indonesia Time).
"This morning at 06.00 AM, the TMA is still at 80 centimeters with a discharge of 90 liters per second or on Alert Level 4," said Andi when contacted by Tempo on Monday morning, March 3, 2025.
Andi stated that the water from Bogor has the potential to reach Jakarta within ten to 12 hours. According to his team's observation, the water has flowed to the Condet Balekambang area, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta this morning.
Although the status of the Katulampa Dam has decreased from Alert Level 1 to Alert Level 4, Andi urged residents living in the areas along the Ciliwung River to remain cautious, considering the potential for rain in the areas of Bogor, Depok, and Jakarta.
"In addition, residents are expected to maintain the environment by not disposing of waste into the river or the drainage system," he said.
The Katulampa Dam is located downstream of the Ciliwung River in Bogor City, West Java. From the Katulampa Dam, some of the Ciliwung River water is channeled through the sluice gate to the East New River.
From East Bogor, the water then flows to Jakarta, then to Cimanggis, Depok, and Cilangkap before finally flowing into the Kali Besar area, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
