TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Chair of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Setyo Budiyanto, said the search at the residence of United Development Party (PPP) politician Djan Faridz was related to the Harun Masiku case.
"Yes, it is related," said Setyo to reporters at Graha Pengayoman, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, South Jakarta, on Friday, January 24, 2025.
He stated the former member of the Presidential Advisory Council in President Joko Widodo's era involvement was based on witness testimony and other elements.
Previously, the KPK searched Djan Faridz's residence on Jalan Borobudur Number 26, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on the evening of Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto confirmed the search of Djan Faridz's residence was related to the Harun Masiku case. However, she was not yet willing to elaborate on the role of the PPP politician.
Regarding information about a meeting between Djan Faridz's staff and Harun Masiku, she stated that "It is part of the investigation material," at the KPK's Merah Putih Building, South Jakarta, on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Earlier, information circulated about Harun Masiku visiting Djan Faridz's residence at Jalan Borobudur No. 26, Menteng, Central Jakarta. At that time, Harun was only met by one of Djan Faridz's staff.
Harun Masiku is suspected of being involved in a bribery case involving a member of the General Elections Commission (KPU), Wahyu Setiawan. The allegation surfaced after the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) on January 8, 2020. However, Harun escaped the operation and has been a fugitive ever since.
Five years later, the KPK named Hasto Kristiyanto a suspect. The Secretary-General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) is suspected of being involved in Harun Masiku's bribery case. Hasto is also alleged to have obstructed the investigation into the case being handled by the KPK.
KPK named Hasto Kristiyanto a suspect based on two investigation warrants issued on December 23, 2024. The first warrant outlines Hasto's involvement in corruption by offering gifts or promises to a Commissioner of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU), Wahyu Setiawan, to facilitate Harun Masiku's appointment as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the South Sumatra Electoral District I.
Meanwhile, the second warrant states that Hasto is also a suspect for obstructing the investigation into Harun Masiku's case.
