TEMPO.CO, Jakarta An ATR 42-500 aircraft belonging to Indonesia Air Transport (IAT), registered PK-THT, reportedly lost contact during its landing approach at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, Makassar, on Saturday, January 17, 2026. The aircraft, carrying seven crew members and three passengers, was en route from Yogyakarta to Makassar.

This information was confirmed by the President Director of PT Indonesia Air Transport, Tri Adi Wibowo, and the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.

"There were seven crew members on board: Captain Andy Dahananto, Co-pilot Farhan Gunawan, Flight Operations Officer Hariadi, Engineer Restu Adi P, Engineer Dwi Murdiono, and cabin crew Florencia Lolita and Esther Aprilita S," said Tri Adi Wibowo in a press conference on Saturday evening.

Previously, there were rumors that the crew numbered eight, but this has been corrected.

Meanwhile, Minister Trenggono confirmed that three employees from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) were on board the aircraft, carrying out a marine and fisheries resource surveillance mission in Indonesia's fisheries management areas. "The three employees are Ferry Irawan (Surveillance Vessel Analyst), Deden Mulyana (State Asset Manager), and Yoga Noval (Aerial Photography Operator)," he said.

The ATR 42-500 PK-THT aircraft lost contact over Maros Regency. Meanwhile, a copy of the passenger manifest received by Tempo is as follows:

The ATR 42-500 PK-THT aircraft lost contact in Maros Regency. As of this writing, the SAR team from Basarnas and the Indonesian Air Force were still searching at the estimated location of the aircraft's last known location.
