TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Manpower Minister Yassierli shared his experience of writing a book in just two months with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). He conveyed this during a public lecture to students at the Polytechnic of Manpower.

Yassierli compared this experience to the past when writing a book could take up to two years. "I only needed two months [to finish] my fifth book because I was assisted by ChatGPT," said Yassierli during his public lecture on the adaptation of Al at the Polytechnic of Manpower, Ciracas, East Jakarta, on Monday, February 10, 2025.

However, he affirmed that the AI chatbot feature was only used to assist in the sorting process and testing ideas that would be expressed in his book. "It doesn't mean that when ChatGPT says something, I copy it," he said.

Yassierli said that AI like ChatGPT should only be used to support human work, for example, to structure ideas. "It helps us to see if there are any weaknesses in the ideas," he said.

The public including students, according to Yassierli, can learn a lot from ChatGPT. However, they must understand how to use it. "Interacting with ChatGPT, or DeepSeek now, or Meta, depends on our prompt," he said.

Therefore, Yassierli also suggested that before asking questions to ChatGPT, users should direct the AI by providing data to be analyzed. This instruction, known as a prompt, is a series of instructions that can guide the AI towards relevant responses.

Yassierli gave an example: if students want to find job prospects that match their skills and experience, they need to provide detailed information in their prompt.

"Feed data first: the situations, current challenges facing Indonesia, the Indonesian economy in the last five years, my personal data, my major, my talent, my daily life, and then ask, are there any fitting opportunities for me? This can be elaborated," said Yassierli explaining how AI prompts work.
