TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) projects that the Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) will remain at 8,200 until the end of the year. As of Thursday, October 9, 2025, the IHSG reached a level of 8,200.
The Executive Head of Capital Market Supervision, Financial Derivatives, and Carbon Exchange of the Financial Services Authority, Inarno Djajadi, hopes that the IHSG position can be maintained until the end of the year. "OJK welcomes the optimism of IHSG. We hope this optimism continues until the end of the year," he said during the virtual press conference of the Monthly Board of Commissioners Meeting Results for September, Thursday, October 9, 2025.
According to Inarno, the strengthening of the IHSG is supported by economic fundamentals and capital market issuers. Additionally, the strengthening of the IHSG is influenced by domestic sentiment.
Nevertheless, Inarno urged market participants to remain cautious of existing risks. "We always remind that investment decisions still need to be accompanied by good caution and risk management," he said.
On Thursday, the IHSG strengthened at closing, led by stocks in the transportation and logistics sectors. The IHSG closed up 84.91 points, or 1.04 percent, at 8,250.94. The LQ45 index, which tracks the 45 leading stocks, rose 15.26 points, or 1.94 percent, to 800.14.
"Asian regional exchanges strengthened, markets responded to the release of The Fed's meeting minutes, which provided an insight that several Fed officials want to lower interest rates this year," said Associate Director of Research and Investment of Pilarmas Investindo Sekuritas, Maximilianus Nico Demus, in his review in Jakarta, Thursday, October 9, 2025.
From abroad, market players are awaiting signals of new policies from the Fed. The September 2025 meeting minutes showed that members agreed the risk to the labor market had increased enough to justify a rate cut. However, they remained cautious about persistent inflation.
On the other hand, market players reacted positively following the first phase peace plan between Israel and Hamas. U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had agreed to the first phase of the peace plan.
