TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 18,614 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are registered as suppliers for the free nutritious meal (MBG) program, according to the Minister of MSMEs, Maman Abdurrahman. This data was collected by the National Nutrition Agency as of November 10, 2025.

"Workers' absorption within the suppliers and the entire ecosystem of the free nutritious meal program is approximately 2.25 million (people)," said Maman during a virtual working meeting with the House Commission VII, aired on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Maman made this statement while presenting his ministry's achievements in 2025. One of the aspects Maman highlighted was the realization of People's Business Credit (KUR) for MSMEs, reaching Rp270 trillion.

This realization fell short of the 2025 target at Rp280 trillion. Throughout 2025, the number of KUR recipients amounted to a total of 4.589 million debtors. This figure consists of 2.758 million new debtors and 1.544 million graduating debtors, which he said both exceeded target.

According to Maman, the MSMEs KUR program has the potential to absorb as many as 7.7 to 11.6 million workers, referring to research by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

Based on BRIN's research, he said, a debtor has the potential to create job opportunities for around two to three people.

Maman also reported the KUR realization in the manufacturing sector, which reached Rp163.9 trillion, taking up 60.7 percent of the total KUR realization. This marks the highest in 2025 and a record high since 2020.

The minister explained that the allocation of KUR in the manufacturing sector is crucial, as it creates a larger workforce absorption compared to the trading sector. But Maman lamented that the majority of these workers are still employed in informal jobs.

He vowed to review this situation and strive to enable millions of workers to enter the formal sector with better work safety guarantees than informal workers.
