TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) is exploring a potential collaboration with flag carrier Garuda Indonesia (IDX: GIAA) in the logistics and transportation sector. The two state-owned companies met on January 8 at the Garuda Indonesia Management Building at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang.

Pos Indonesia president director Faizal R. Djoemadi stated that the collaboration would have a positive impact on both companies and strengthen the national logistics ecosystem. "This partnership is a strategic step to support efficient delivery and expand service reach, enabling us to provide faster, safer, and integrated logistics services," he said in a written statement on January 14.

In addition to Faizal R. Djoemadi, the meeting was attended by Pos Indonesia's courier and logistics business director Tonggo Marbun and business development and portfolio management director Prasabri Pesti. From Garuda Indonesia, finance and risk management director Prasetio and commercial director Ade R. Susardi were present.

The meeting focused on four key topics: cooperation in managing Hajj cargo, last-mile services, middle-mile air transport, and leveraging Pos Indonesia's network to enhance national logistics distribution.

Garuda Indonesia’s commercial director Ade R. Susardi emphasized that the synergy aligns with the company’s efforts to strengthen cargo and logistics distribution services across Indonesia. "This partnership will open new opportunities to develop both air and ground logistics services, supporting the needs of communities and industries in various regions," he said.

Ade also expressed hope that the collaboration would increase the efficiency and reach of both companies' services, strengthen the national logistics ecosystem, and support faster deliveries across Indonesia. He added that this collaboration is part of Pos Indonesia and Garuda Indonesia's broader efforts to expand services and offer more integrated logistics solutions, both for domestic and international needs.
