TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto reminded regional legislative leaders across Indonesia that they are “patriots who love the country” during a closed-door leadership training program titled “Regional Leadership Consolidation Course for DPRD Chairpersons from All Over Indonesia,” held in Magelang, Central Java, on Saturday.
In his opening remarks, which were monitored online from Jakarta, Prabowo said he would speak candidly to the 503 DPRD chairpersons from provincial and regency/city levels attending the event.
“But I believe, as fellow citizens and patriots, because I came here to meet you with the assumption that we are all patriots in this tent,” he said.
“I also come here with the assumption that we love our country, we love our nation, and we love our people,” Prabowo added.
Earlier, Prabowo arrived at around 10:00 a.m. local time to deliver his briefing to the DPRD leaders, accompanied by several ministers and agency heads who are also scheduled to give presentations at the event.
He was joined by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
Also present were Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Housing and Settlement Areas Minister Maruarar Sirait, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu’ti, Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, National Food Agency Head Dadan Hindayana, Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and other ministers and agency heads.
Lemhannas Governor TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily said in his remarks that the program gathered 503 DPRD chairpersons from across Indonesia to strengthen their understanding and ensure they oversee the implementation of the “Astacita” national agenda at the regional level.
He added that the retreat includes materials on the four pillars of national consensus and global geopolitical dynamics facing Indonesia. These topics are expected to broaden the perspectives of regional leaders in carrying out their duties.
