There are at least 17 ministers from Jokowi's era who were asked to assist Prabowo's government. Of that number, 12 of them are still holding positions in the ministries they held before in the Jokowi era.

So who are the 12 ministers that Prabowo brought from Jokowi's era with fixed positions?

President Prabowo has inaugurated a lineup of ministers, deputy ministers, and heads of non-ministerial agencies in the Red and White Cabinet of the Prabowo-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government at the State Palace, Central Jakarta on Monday, October 21, 2024. In total, there are 48 ministers and 5 heads of agencies as well as 56 people filling deputy minister positions.

Here are the series of Jokowi ministers who still hold positions in their previous ministries in the Red and White Cabinet:

Airlangga Hartarto has returned to serve as the Coordinating Minister for the Economy in President Prabowo's government. He previously held this position in the Jokowi era since October 2019. After being inaugurated by Prabowo, the former Chair of Golkar Party said that the position he is returning to is a heavy mandate. Therefore, he needs to work harder.

"Alhamdulillah (praise to God), I have been entrusted with a heavy duty, so we need to work harder," he told reporters in his office on Monday. "Especially since there are certainly changes from the focus of the Coordinating Ministry office."

2. Tito Karnavian

Retired Police General Tito Karnavian has returned to serve as the Minister of Home Affairs in the Prabowo-Gibran government. In Jokowi's Indonesia Maju Cabinet, he held that position for one term since October 2019.

The first task is to carry out health screening programs for the entire population. The second task, Prabowo asked him to accelerate the construction of hospitals in remote and underdeveloped areas. The third task, the Minister of Health is tasked with promptly addressing Tuberculosis or TB.

4. Erick Thohir

President Prabowo asked Erick Thohir to resume the position he previously held in Jokowi's government, namely as the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). This means that this is his second term after serving one term since 2019. After being inaugurated by Prabowo, the Chairman of PSSI said that BUMN must work even harder, professionally, and transparently.

"We in the BUMN must work even harder, be more professional, and transparent. As an assistant to the President, we must uphold his vision, where one of them might be how our cooperation with the private sector looks from the BUMN perspective," said Erick at the Ministry of BUMN office in Jakarta on Monday.

5. Bahlil Lahadalia

Bahlil Lahadalia was appointed by Jokowi as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) on August 19, 2024, replacing Arifin Tasrif. In Prabowo's government, the Chair of Golkar Party was asked to continue this position. One of his priority programs is to make Indonesia self-sufficient in energy.

"The president's directive is energy sovereignty. Whether we like it or not, oil lifting, then conversion to B40, B60, B80. Maybe even B100," said Bahlil at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

6. Sri Mulyani

The two-term Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, in the Jokowi era, was also asked by Prabowo to become the state treasurer in his government. Prabowo's decision to choose Sri Mulyani was revealed the previous Monday when he invited this economist to his residence. After the meeting, Sri Mulyani revealed that Prabowo asked her to become the Finance Minister.

"I had a fairly long discussion with Mr. Prabowo, in arranging the cabinet, he asked me to return as a Finance Minister," said Sri Mulyani to reporters.

President Prabowo has officially appointed Sri Mulyani as the Finance Minister. The certainty was announced by Prabowo when he announced his cabinet members named the Red and White Cabinet at the Palace on Sunday, October 20, 2024. "Sri Mulyani as the Finance Minister," said Prabowo.

7. Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita

Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita was elected to fill the position as Minister of Industry in the 2024-2029 Red and White Cabinet of the Prabowo-Gibran government. He previously held that position in the Jokowi era since October 2019. "Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Industry," said Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Sunday.

Agus was one of Jokowi's ministers called by Prabowo the previous week. After meeting Prabowo, he explained that Prabowo set an economic growth target of 8 percent per year, which must be achieved through contributions in various sectors. However, he did not specify which field he would be in.

8. Dito Ariotedjo

Dito Ariotedjo was reappointed as the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) in the Prabowo-Gibran government. As the Minister of Sports, he will work under the Coordinator Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK).

9. Sakti Wahyu Trenggono

Sakti Wahyu Trenggono was re-elected as the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in the Red and White Cabinet of President Prabowo's government. Previously, this position was held by Wahyu Trenggono in the Indonesia Maju Cabinet since December 2020.

After being inaugurated by Prabowo, Trenggono revealed one of his programs, which is to make Indonesia the number one country as a producer of fishery products and to surpass Vietnam's production figures. Trenggono said that besides outperforming neighboring countries, this effort could also contribute to maintaining food security in Indonesia.

"And then from an economic perspective, Indonesia must be able to become a champion in fishery production as part of our contribution (KKP) to food security," said Trenggono at the Mina Bahari I Building, KKP on Monday, October 21, 2024.

10. Amran Sulaiman

Reported by Antara, due to his skill in leading the Ministry of Agriculture in the previous government, Amran Sulaiman successfully helped President Jokowi gain international recognition in the field of food. Now, Amran has been entrusted again to serve as the Minister of Agriculture for the Prabowo government.

Amran served as the Minister of Agriculture from 2014 to 2019, during the first term of President Jokowi in tandem with Vice President Jusuf Kalla. Although the position of Minister of Agriculture was briefly held by Syahrul Yasin Limpo in Jokowi's second term, the position was returned to Amran in October 2023 after Syahrul was implicated in a corruption case.

11. Rosan Roeslani

Rosan Roeslani was the Minister of Investment / BKPM in the government of President Joko Widodo alias Jokowi. He was inaugurated on Monday, August 19, 2024, replacing Bahlil Lahadalia, who at the time was assigned to take on a new mandate as the Minister of ESDM.

Prabowo recently asked Rosan to continue the position of Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). However, there is a new assignment from the Gerindra Party Chairman, namely in the downstream sector, with the addition of that nomenclature in the Investment Ministry.

"The direction (from President Prabowo) is more emphasis on downstreaming and not just focusing on mining," said Rosan when met by reporters at the State Palace on Monday, October 21, 2024.

12. Saifullah Yusuf

President Prabowo has reappointed the Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama Central Board (PBNU) Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul as the Minister of Social Affairs in the Red and White Cabinet. Gus Ipul was the last minister appointed by Jokowi on September 11 to replace Tri Rismaharini who ran for the 2024 Regional Head Elections.

Being the shortest-serving minister in the Jokowi era, less than two months, Gus Ipul then did not expect to be called back by Prabowo in his government. Prabowo's appointment of Gus Ipul as the Minister of Social Affairs provides Gus Ipul with the opportunity to continue his brief tenure in the Jokowi era.

"Saifullah Yusuf, Minister of Social Affairs," said Prabowo at the State Palace on Sunday.
