TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo departed for London, United Kingdom, today, Sunday, January 18, 2025, from Halim Perdanakusuma airbase in Jakarta. He is scheduled to meet King Charles III and British PM Keir Starmer.
Several state officials saw the president off, including VP Gibran Rakabuming, Deputy Speaker of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
In an Instagram post, Teddy Indra Wijaya briefly explained Prabowo's slated activities in the UK. According to Teddy, Prabowo is scheduled to meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London.
"To discuss agreements in several strategic collaborations, including in the economic and maritime sectors," wrote the Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet, on Sunday.
The Head of State will also hold a meeting with King Charles II, discussing, among others, environmental and wildlife preservation, particularly elephant conservation. Teddy stated that the gathering will involve various other world philanthropic figures.
After the UK, Prabowo is scheduled to depart for Switzerland. The Gerindra Party chair will deliver a keynote address at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
The event is expected to be attended by 61 heads of state and government, as well as over 1,000 participants. "President Prabowo will also conduct strategic dialogues with CEOs from leading international companies," said Teddy.
