TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met with 22 businesspeople at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday evening, February 9, 2026. The businesspeople from the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) held discussions with Prabowo for approximately three hours.
The Head of State's meeting with the businesspeople took place from 6:50 PM to 10:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time). Prabowo told the businesspeople that they have a strategic role in creating jobs in Indonesia.
Prabowo explained his vision for Indonesia Incorporated, a government that collaborates with the business world and all stakeholders to strengthen national competitiveness and accelerate economic development.
"Industrial development must provide tangible benefits to the people, open up as many job opportunities as possible, and strengthen national independence," Prabowo said, as quoted in a written statement.
Furthermore, Prabowo also encouraged businesspeople to create jobs, particularly in the real sector. He encouraged the development of the textile industry, including garments, footwear, and furniture, as well as other strategic sectors, including the food and beverage industry, fisheries, livestock, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Meanwhile, the entrepreneurs in attendance expressed their commitment to supporting President Prabowo's vision and mission, particularly in efforts to alleviate poverty by improving nutrition and quality education for all Indonesian children, as well as realizing industrialization.
During the audience, President Prabowo was accompanied by several cabinet members, including Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Head of the Government Communications Agency Angga Raka Prabowo, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Meanwhile, the 22 Apindo entrepreneurs who attended included Sofjan Wanandi, Sudamek, Suryadi Sasmita, Haryanto Adikoesoemo, Mucki Tan, Harijanto, Johny Darmawan, Shinta W. Kamdani, Sanny Iskandar, Eddy Hussy, Soegianto Nagaria, Lindrawati Widjojo, Hendra Widjaja, Budiarsa Sastrawinata, Ronald Walla, Adhi Lukman, Raymond Gunawan, Dedy Rochimat, Kris Adidarma, Leo Julianto Sutedja, and Harry Lukminto.
