TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has appointed Dony Oskaria as the Acting Minister of State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) after Erick Thohir assumed the position of Minister of Youth and Sports. State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi announced the decision at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Friday, September 19, 2025.
"The Acting Minister of SOE is appointed by the Deputy SOE Minister in the name of Dony Oskaria," said Prasetyo.
Prabowo considered Dony as the Deputy Minister and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Board (BPI Danantara). The appointment of Dony is expected to expedite the reformation of state-owned companies. "This reformation is currently being carried out by Danantara and the Ministry of SOE," he said.
Previously, the SOE Minister's seat was vacant after Erick Thohir moved to become the Minister of Youth and Sports. Erick was inaugurated at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
The inauguration was stated in Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 96P/2025 regarding the dismissal and appointment of ministers and deputy ministers during the Red and White Cabinet from 2024 to 2029.
The president respectfully dismissed Erick Thohir from his position as SOE Minister. The decision then appointed several officials. One of them is Erick Thohir, as the Minister of Youth and Sports.
According to Prasetyo, President Prabowo Subianto is still searching for a replacement for Erick Thohir. "We are still looking for a replacement with the transfer of duties from Erick Thohir from the BUMN Ministry to the Ministry of Youth and Sports," said Prasetyo at the State Palace Complex on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
This Gerindra Party politician said that Prabowo plans to temporarily appoint an Acting Minister of SOE. The possibility is that the Acting Minister is the Deputy SOE Minister. However, Prasetyo has not mentioned the figure of the Acting Minister among the two current Deputy SOE Ministers, namely Dony Oskaria or Aminuddin Ma'ruf, at that time. "Not yet, I have not signed the ad interim," he said.
