TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto announced plans to provide additional training for all members of the Merah Putih Cabinet at the military academy, or Akmil, in Magelang, Central Java. He hopes that this training will enhance coordination and improve the performance of his government.
He referenced the birth of the Republic of Indonesia through physical struggle in various regions. “And Magelang played a pivotal role in our resistance against the colonizers. For centuries, it has been recognized as the site of Prince Diponegoro's struggle,” he said during the first plenary cabinet meeting at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 25.
The head of state emphasized the history of Mount Tidar, which symbolizes courage, heroism, and patriotism. On the same occasion, Prabowo defended the formation of his large cabinet.
“The cabinet consists of 48 ministers, and there are also strategically important agencies. I am aware that this number may be considered large, but our nation is a great nation,” he asserted.
Previously, the Executive Chair of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, confirmed that the training at Akmil Magelang was scheduled for three days. “As far as I know, a vision alignment took place on October 24,” he said at the Presidential Office in Jakarta following the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, October 22.
Dasco admitted that he was unaware of the specific topics that would be presented by Prabowo, as he did not participate in organizing or attending the event at Akmil Magelang. However, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) mentioned that the head of state aims to further unite his ministers.
“Pak PS will outline the steps to be taken, particularly within the next 100 days, and ensure that his ministers fully understand the programs,” Dasco said, mentioning the Prabowo-Gibran administration’s first 100-day program.
