TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several analysts believe that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's housing program, such as three million housing per year, will take time to boost the growth of the property sector stocks. This is because construction programs take a long time.
Chief Economist and Head of Research at Mirae Asset Sekuritas, Rully Arya Wisnubroto, believes that property issuers have not yet seen positive impacts from President Prabowo Subianto's three million housing program. However, it is possible once the details of the program become clearer. "Perhaps in the future, the property sector will receive positive sentiment from the government," said Rully on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Moreover, he admitted that he is not too convinced that the program will boost the performance of banking stocks that are the credit providers. Currently, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. or BBTN is mentioned as the collaborating bank. "BTN has not shown significant strength so far, we will see how it progresses," he said.
Similarly, Head of Investment at Nawasena Abhipraya Investama, Kiswoyo Adi Joe, believes that the property sector still needs to wait for the housing-related programs to take effect. According to him, construction-related programs require a long time. This is unlike consumption-related programs such as free nutritious meals. "Because we need to first see the prices, the construction, the process is lengthy," said Kiswoyo to Tempo, last week.
Kiswoyo argues that the sectors that will quickly feel the impact of Prabowo Subianto's quick win program are dairy and livestock producers. He thinks that programs related to food will be quickly realized.
As for the health laboratory sector, some issuers like PT Prodia Widyausaha (PRDA) engaged in laboratory services and Kalbe Farma (KLBF), Kiswoyo believes, will receive positive catalysts from this program. He sets a target of 3,200 for PRDA and 1,850 for KLBF by the end of 2024.
