TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto summoned the Attorney General and all Deputy Attorneys General to the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, January 13, 2025. Quoted from the Presidential Press Bureau, the meeting focused on the issue of eradicating corruption and handling illegal permits that are considered detrimental to the state and hamper national development.
In the closed meeting, President Prabowo emphasized his commitment to strengthening law enforcement, especially in overcoming corrupt practices that often occur in the licensing sector. The President assessed that illegal permits are one of the loopholes that are often exploited for personal or group interests, resulting in state losses.
In addition, President Prabowo also gave directions for the prosecutor's office to accelerate the investigation and prosecution process against illegal licensing practices. The President also emphasized the importance of strengthening the supervision system in government agencies so that the licensing process runs transparently and in accordance with applicable regulations.
Also accompanying President Prabowo at the meeting was Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Also present at the meeting were the Head of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) Ivan Yustiavandan and the Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Yusuf Ateh.
