TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka approach their administration's 100-day milestone on January 28, 2025, the President highlighted several promises during the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Consolidation National Conference in Jakarta on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Speaking at the event, which marked Anindya Bakrie’s inauguration as Kadin Chairman for the 2024-2029 term, Prabowo pledged rapid progress, significant surprises, and transformative achievements.
Key Commitments from Prabowo Ahead of the 100-Day Milestone
Accelerated Cabinet Performance Within Six Months
President Prabowo emphasized his administration’s commitment to swift action but noted the importance of human resource preparation. He asked for patience, stating that tangible impacts from the cabinet's work would be evident within six months.
“This is just three months. Wait, be patient. By the fifth or sixth month, you’ll feel it. We are running now, moving as fast as possible,” Prabowo assured.Promise of Major Surprises
Prabowo expressed optimism about achieving economic growth targets with the support of his ministers in the Merah Putih Cabinet. He hinted at upcoming breakthroughs, stating, “We will deliver big surprises in the weeks and months to come.”Rapid Achievement of Food Self-Sufficiency
The President pledged that Indonesia would achieve food self-sufficiency well ahead of the four-year target previously set.
“Our goal for food self-sufficiency was four years. But you’ll be surprised—we’ll achieve it much sooner than that,” he declared.Energy Self-Sufficiency Goals
Prabowo vowed to make Indonesia energy self-sufficient, leveraging the country’s abundant green energy resources. He announced plans for substantial investments in renewable energy, noting, “Not many countries in the world have green energy like we do. We will have complete and substantial renewable energy resources.”
Prabowo also stressed the importance of efficient management and fiscal discipline. “Indonesia is a rich country. We must manage it well, leaving no room for waste,” he said.
Addressing long-standing inefficiencies, the President stated that he is aware of tactics used to exploit governance and assured that such practices would be addressed.
“Let me tell you, I know all the tricks. We will not tolerate inefficiency or waste,” he said.
Prabowo reaffirmed his administration’s focus on national and public interests.
“There are no other motives, no other orientations. Our policies are solely for the benefit of the Indonesian people and nation. We will not hesitate in pursuing this mission,” he concluded.
The administration’s upcoming 100-day mark is seen as a key indicator of its ability to deliver on these ambitious promises.
