TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar departed for Saudi Arabia to meet with the Saudi Arabian Minister of Hajj Affairs in preparation for the implementation of the 1446 Hijri or 2025 AD hajj pilgrimage. In addition, the Minister of Religious Affairs will also look for the right hajj service provider for Indonesian pilgrims.

Nasaruddin Umar said that President Prabowo Subianto wanted this year's hajj preparations to be carried out optimally and with improved quality. Nasaruddin Umar, accompanied by the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organizers (Dirjen PHU) Hilman Latief, will fulfill several invitations related to hajj preparations, including holding a meeting with the Saudi Arabian Minister of Hajj Affairs Tawfiq F Al-Rabiah to finalize cooperation in organizing the hajj.

"We will carry out several activities while in Saudi. "There was a signing of cooperation related to the implementation of the 1446 H/2025 M Hajj Pilgrimage and the exhibition," said Nasaruddin before leaving for Saudi Arabia, quoted from his official statement, January 11, 2025.

Nasaruddin said that at the exhibition his party would look for service providers. He will see who the most appropriate service provider is to work together to make this year's hajj a success.

In addition to the Ministry of Religion, a number of parties will be involved in preparing and supervising the implementation of the hajj. Nasaruddin said that the Hajj Organizing Agency (BP Haji), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), and the Attorney General's Office will monitor the implementation of the hajj.

"Give us a chance. I as the Minister of Religion, Head of BPH, and related parties. There is also the KPK, the prosecutor's office, and various parties who will monitor the implementation of the clean, orderly hajj pilgrimage," said the Grand Imam of the Istiqlal Mosque.

The DPR and the government have agreed to set the cost of organizing the hajj pilgrimage (BPIH) for departures this year 1446 Hijri or 2025 AD amounting to Rp89,410,258.79. Of this amount, 62 percent of the hajj costs are borne by the congregation and 38 percent are borne by the government.

"The correction has decreased from Rp93.4 million last year to Rp89.4 million. Yes, around 4 million has decreased," said Chair of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives Marwan Dasopang when reporting the results of the agreement to President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace, January 7, 2025.

Meanwhile, the cost of the hajj pilgrimage (Bipih) that must be borne by each congregation for this year is Rp55.4 million. This amount is allocated to finance flight tickets, accommodation in Mecca, accommodation in Medina, and living costs. When compared to 2024, the amount of Bipih this year has decreased from the previous Rp56 million. The Bipih settlement is paid by the hajj pilgrims after deducting the initial deposit and the balance of the benefit value in each pilgrim's virtual account.
