TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – A suspicious object, believed to be a mortar, was discovered at the West Sumatra Pavilion in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Cipayung, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, 1 July 2026. A janitor found the object while cleaning the pavilion area.
At around 11:05 AM, the cleaning officer was cleaning the West Sumatra Pavilion when he spotted the object believed to be a mortar. "While Witness 1 was cleaning around the crime scene, he found a suspected mortar at the scene," said the Head of the Public Relations Section of the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Adjunct Commissioner Made Budi in his statement.

The cleaning officer then informed another witness about the discovery. The witness checked the crime scene and reported it to the management of TMII and the Cipayung Police Sector.
