1. Lombok Police Shut Down Illegal Gold Mine After Collapse Injures 3
The Central Lombok Resort Police have shut down an illegal gold mine in Mount Kongbawi, Serage Village, after the quarry collapsed and injured three people.
The South West Praya Police Chief, Second Inspector Aswina, said that one of the victims broke a leg. "It was shut down after the mining hole collapsed, which resulted in three miners getting injured," Aswina said in his written statement on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Aswina mentioned that the location of the illegal gold mining was within the production forest area owned by the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government. The soil in this area is highly unstable, posing a huge risk of triggering landslides, especially since the excavation is situated around slopes and cliffs.
2. OJK and IDX Prepare 8 Action Plans for Market Reform
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Self-Regulatory Organizations (SRO), including the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), have drafted eight action plans to accelerate the integrity reform of the Indonesian capital market.
These strategic steps were presented during a dialogue with capital market participants at the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Friderica Widyasari Dewi, Deputy Board Commissioner of the OJK, stated that the institution and its stakeholders are committed to strengthening structural reforms to ensure the market remains credible and investment-worthy.
"The eight action plans we have formulated are organized into four clusters: new free float policies, transparency, governance and enforcement, and synergy," Friderica explained during the dialogue in Jakarta on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

3. JCI Slumps 3 Percent as MSCI Sentiment Continues to Weigh
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) weakened 3.01 percent to 8,079.024 at the start of trading this week, Monday, February 2, 2026. The 45-stock blue chip index, or LQ45 index, also fell 2.80 percent to 809,361.
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) recorded a 7.37 percent decline in market capitalization last week, to Rp15,046 trillion from Rp16,244 trillion the previous week. Consequently, market capitalization decreased by Rp1,198 trillion during the week.
"Stock trading data on the IDX for the period January 26-30, 2026, closed with mixed results," said IDX Corporate Secretary Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad in an official statement, quoted on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
