1. Transjakarta Corridor 1 Blok M-Kota to Be Removed; Agency Explains Why
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Transportation Agency has announced plans to adjust or reroute the Transjakarta Corridor 1, which currently operates connecting Blok M and Kota. This decision comes in light of the upcoming completion of MRT Jakarta Phase 2A, which overlaps with the existing Transjakarta route.
“Once MRT Phase 2A is completed and becomes fully operational, connecting Lebak Bulus to Kota, Transjakarta services that overlap with the MRT line, such as Corridor 1 Blok M-Kota will be rerouted,” explained Syafrin Liputo, Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, in an official statement on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
2. A Glimpse Inside Taylor Swift's Private Jets
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Named one of the world’s richest singers in 2024, Taylor Swift has emerged as a big pop star with an even more solid fan base in the current era of music. She has come a long way since her debut album, Taylor Swift, in 2006 and has now amassed a 9-figure net worth, largely attributable to her latest concert, The Eras Tour, which grossed about US$500 million.
Thanks to her hit-after-hit releases, Swift can pull off a high-profile lifestyle, even if it means having her own fleet of private jets. Yes, you read it right. The artist behind “Cruel Summer” owns not one, but up to two Dassault jets! These private jets serve as her mode of transportation for travel and tours.
3. Polemics over Prabowo's 2 Months as President: 12% VAT Increase, Regional Heads Elected by DPRD, Discourse on Pardoning Corruptors
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Exactly two months into his term as head of state as of December 20, 2024, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has received attention in recent weeks with a series of controversial statements. The General Chair of the Gerindra Party has drawn criticism because his statements are considered not pro-populist or not on the side of the people.
Starting from ensuring a 12 percent increase in value-added tax or VAT as of January 2025, proposing that regional heads be elected through the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) again like the pre-Reformation era, to forgiving corruptors who repent or returning the proceeds of corruption.
