World's Gold and Precious Metals Price Outlook for Next Week

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Antam gold or precious metal prices on Saturday's trading, January 10, 2026, closed at Rp2,602,000 per gram, an increase of Rp25,000 from the previous day. Meanwhile, world gold prices at the end of the week closed at US$4,508 per troy ounce.

Currency and commodities observer and Director of PT Traze Andalan Futures, Ibrahim Assuaibi, stated that if world gold prices move up on Monday, January 12, 2026, it is likely to reach US$4,550 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, Antam gold prices will also rise to reach Rp2,630,000 per gram.

If the upward trend continues, world gold and precious metals are likely to soar until the end of the following week. "Then, until the end of the week, there is a good chance that world gold prices will reach US$4,600 per troy ounce, and the precious metal is likely to break through to Rp2,700,000 per gram," said Ibrahim in a written statement on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

However, he also explained that if world gold prices fall, the decrease will likely be in the range of US$4,418-US$4,472 per troy ounce by the following Monday. Furthermore, the price of precious metals could correct by Rp30,000, ranging from Rp2,501,000 to Rp2,570,000 per gram.

Ibrahim explained several factors that affect the movement of world gold prices. Firstly, the global factor, namely the interest rate policy of the United States Central Bank. Employment data in the United States actually increased, but the increase was not in line with expectations. "This indicates that the United States Central Bank will be cautious in lowering interest rates," he said.

The next factor is geopolitical tension. Tensions between the U.S. and Venezuela have eased, but mass protest in Iran have added to the turmoil. Tensions in Eastern Europe also run the risk of widening after Ukraine's attack on Putin's residence in Moscow.

On the one hand, U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his desire to control more than half of the world's oil production if he is successful in gaining access to Venezuela's oil industry. Thus, oil prices could be pushed down to US$50 per barrel. "This is what actually creates its own tension, and world gold prices have experienced a significant increase," said Ibrahim.
