TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk., revealed that there were 490,621 vehicles leaving the Jabotabek (Greater Jakarta) area a week before Christmas 2024, namely on December 18 to 20, 2024. This number was recorded from the traffic flow at four main toll gates (GT), namely the Cikupa GT towards Merak, the Ciawi GT towards Puncak, the Cikampek Utama GT towards Trans Java, and the Kalihurip Utama GT towards Bandung.
Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head, Lisye Octaviana said that the volume of traffic leaving the Jabodetabek area increased by 13.5 percent when compared to normal traffic of 432,231 vehicles. Meanwhile, when compared to the Christmas period last year, this traffic volume increased by 3 percent, namely 476,160 vehicles.
Of the total 490 thousand vehicles leaving Jabotabek in the week before Christmas, the most vehicles headed East, namely Trans Java and Bandung, with a total of 216,400 vehicles or 44.1 percent.
"161,443 vehicles or 32.9 percent headed West (Merak), and 112,778 vehicles or 23 percent headed South (Puncak)," said Lisye in her official statement, quoted from Tempo.co today, Monday, December 23, 2024.
For traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java via the Cikampek Utama GT on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, there were 109,019 vehicles recorded, an increase of 27.6 percent compared to normal traffic. Then, traffic to Bandung via the Kalihurip Utama GT on the Cipularang Toll Road reached 107,381 vehicles or an increase of 13.5 percent from normal traffic.
Furthermore, traffic flow to Merak via GT Cikupa was recorded at 161,443 vehicles or an increase of 9.2 percent from normal traffic. Then, vehicles heading to Puncak via GT Ciawi were 112,778 vehicles or an increase of 8.1 percent from normal traffic.
On D-5 of Christmas, Lisye revealed that traffic leaving Jabotabek at the four main toll gates was recorded at 182,970 vehicles. This figure increased by 13.3 percent from normal traffic, which was 161,263 vehicles.
