TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok appreciates Pramono Anung who can unite Ahoker and Anak Abah sympathizers in the 2024 Jakarta Election. Ahoker, or Ahok supporters, and Anak Abah, or Anies Baswedan supporters, are often labeled as opposing, especially in terms of ideology and role models.
"I think it's a good example. National interests above all. Above ethnicity, religion and race (SARA)," said Ahok when met at the Grand Campaign of Pramono-Rano Karno at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Ahoker is a sympathizer of Ahok in Jakarta. Meanwhile, Anak Abah is a term for supporters of former Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan. These two factions are usually on different sides due to differences in the background identities of Ahok and Anies.
During the Jakarta election campaign, gubernatorial candidate No. 3 Pramono Anung claimed to have made efforts to unite the two factions. As a result, he received the support of Ahok and Anak Abah to win the election.
Meanwhile, the declaration of Ahok sympathizers for candidate number 3 took place before the first debate of the Jakarta election on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The declaration was titled "2,000 Ahokers for Mas Pram and Bang Doel".
On the other hand, Anak Abah's declaration of support for Pramono-Rano was made on Saturday, November 16, 2024, through the Vigilant Citizen Alert Event. Anies Baswedan's spokesperson, Sahrin Hamid, said that the declaration of support was previously agreed upon when Anies met with Pramono-Rano on Friday, November 15, 2024.
Sahrin said that aside from monitoring the voting process until the recapitulation, the Warga Kawal TPS volunteer team will also garner support from the community, especially from Anies or Anak Abah sympathizers. "With these campaign efforts, we are targeting Mas Pram and Bang Rano to win the election in one round," Sahrin said.
