TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Commissioner General Eddy Hartono said that his party anticipates the threat of terrorism during the celebration of Christmas and 2025 New Year. In this case, BNPT is cooperating with intelligence and law enforcement officials.
"BNPT always cooperates with intelligence and law enforcement agencies," Eddy told reporters after the handover of freshwater fish seed aid at the Cengklik Reservoir, Boyolali, Central Java, Saturday, December 21, 2024.
Eddy said that the steps taken by BNPT together with related parties include making mitigation efforts. This is to prevent terrorist threats as in previous years.
On this occasion, BNPT handed over the assistance of about 100,000 red tilapia seeds to Keramba Tirtamina located in the Cengklik Reservoir area, Ngemplak, Boyolali. He explained that Keramba Tirtamina is one of BNPT's deradicalization partners in Boyolali Regency.
"On behalf of the ministry/institution, we are assisting the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in the form of about 100,000 red tilapia fish seeds to Karamba Tirtamina, which is the deradicalization partner of BNPT," he said.
He said his party also cooperated with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) to provide training to improve human resources and develop micro, small, and medium enterprises.
"It is hoped that these deradicalization values will grow and develop and also help reduce the spread of radicalism in society," he said.
He also hopes that this will be a stimulus or encouragement for deradicalization partners to make efforts to develop entrepreneurship and also develop the nation.
