BPS Logs 0.17% Inflation in November 2025

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded a 0.17 percent (month-to-month) inflation in November 2025. Meanwhile, the year-on-year and year-to-date inflation are recorded at 2.72 percent and 2.27 percent, respectively.

Deputy for Distribution and Service Statistics at BPS, Pudji Ismartini, said personal care and other services contributed the highest last month, with an inflation rate of 1.21 percent, making up 0.09 percent of the total inflation. Pudji said, "The dominant commodity driving inflation in this group is gold jewelry, contributing to 0.08 percent of the total inflation," during a press conference on Monday, December 1, 2025.

On the other hand, the commodities that still contributed to deflation in November 2025 included broiler chicken with a deflation rate of 0.03 percent, as well as rice and red chili with deflation rates of 0.02 percent each. Based on components, the inflation in November 2025 was mainly driven by core component inflation, contributing to 0.11 percent of the total inflation. Meanwhile, government-regulated prices contributed to 0.05 percent of the total inflation.

Pudji noted that 28 provinces experienced inflation while 10 provinces experienced deflation (m-t-m). The highest inflation occurred in Papua at 1.69 percent, whereas the steepest deflation occurred in Aceh at 0.67 percent.

Meanwhile, inflation in November 2025 reached 2.72 percent (y-o-y), indicating growth in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 106.33 in November 2024 to 109.22 in November 2025. Based on expenditure groups, this annual inflation was primarily driven by the food, beverage, and tobacco group, which experienced an inflation rate of 4.25 percent, contributing to 1.22 percent of the total inflation.

The commodity with the largest contribution to inflation in this group was red chili. "The expenditure group that still experienced annual deflation in November 2025 was the information, communication, and financial services group, with a deflation rate of 0.25 percent, contributing to 0.01 percent of the total deflation," said Pudji.
