TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chair of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Saleh Partaonan Daulay said that all parties must participate in supervising the implementation of the free nutritious meal program. Saleh assessed that public supervision plays a major role in the success of one of the flagship programs of the Prabowo Subianto government.

"We must prove that we can. Therefore, don't play around with this program," said Saleh in his official statement, Monday, January 6, 2025.

According to this PAN politician, public supervision can be carried out on aspects of procurement of materials, kitchen activities, cleanliness, distribution, and various other related activities. In addition, Saleh hopes that the public can report individuals or anyone suspected of committing violations related to the free nutritious meal program.

In addition, he hopes that there will be constructive suggestions and input so that the MBG program will be even better. Given the new program, said Saleh, free nutritious meals certainly will not run perfectly right away. "So suggestions, input, and criticism are needed from all parties," he said.

"The person in charge of this program needs to conduct regular evaluations," added Saleh.

Previously, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) released a list of locations of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) that will become kitchens for cooking food menus distributed in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. Head of the Legal and Public Relations Bureau (Humas) of BGN, Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan, stated that the kitchens will officially operate tomorrow, Monday, January 6, 2025.

"This is the data for 190 SPPG locations that are ready to operate as of January 6, 2025," said Iwan in an official statement, Sunday, January 5, 2025.

Based on the data shared by Iwan, there are 190 SPPG kitchen points spread across 26 provinces in Indonesia. Meanwhile, West Java is the province with the largest number of SPPG locations with a total of 57 SPPG locations in operation. The kitchens collaborate with cooperative units, foundations, and limited liability companies.
