TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's National Nutrition Body (BGN) is preparing a presidential regulation regarding the management of the implementation of the free nutritious meal program (MBG). The Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, has submitted the draft revision of the regulation to the Presidential Palace.
He stated that approval of the revision to the regulation managing the implementation of the free nutritious meal program is nearing completion. "In the final process," Dadan said when contacted on Monday, October 13, 2025.
In a draft obtained by Tempo, the revised regulation on the management of the free nutritious meal program consists of 55 articles grouped into five chapters. One of the points stated in Chapter II concerning the organization of the free nutritious meal program regulates the management of data and information systems.
"To implement real-time data management and information systems, the National Nutrition Body is accelerating the digitalization of the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program," as stated in Article 40, paragraph 2 of the MBG draft regulation.
The Moneyprinting Public Corporation of the Republic of Indonesia, also known as Peruri, has been assigned to accelerate the digitalization of the free nutritious meal program implementation. This is stipulated in Article 41, paragraph 1.
Peruri is a state-owned company with the primary task of printing currency for Indonesia, as well as producing various state security documents, as stipulated in Government Regulation Number 6 of 2019.
Peruri's task in accelerating the digitalization of the free nutritious meal program implementation includes three aspects. Among them are digitalization identification, needs deepening, and the design of appropriate solutions.
Designing appropriate solutions involves several areas of consideration. These include planning, construction, development, integration, operation, security, and maintenance of the application and supporting implementation systems.
Peruri, as the executor of the assignment for accelerating the digitalization of the free meal program implementation, can collaborate with various parties. "State-owned Enterprises, state-owned enterprise subsidiaries, and other business entities in accordance with good business practices and corporate governance," as stated in an excerpt from Article 41, paragraph 4 of the draft regulation.
The Head of the National Nutrition Body, Dadan Hindayana, explained that Peruri is involved in digitizing the entire implementation of the free nutritious meal program. He stated that Peruri is ready to be involved in the acceleration of the digitalization of this priority program of Prabowo's government.
"They are ready, they have been involved from the start," Dadan told Tempo on Friday, October 10, 2025.
He said he has devised a concept for collecting digital data on beneficiaries and the number of free meal portions at each school. "We plan to use face recognition to register all students who come, so that the data is recorded," said Dadan.
The digitally collected student data will be used as a reference for the organizers to send the total portions of free nutritious meals. "So, there is a match between the food sent and the participants," said this alumnus of IPB University.
