TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The oldest and first major modern theme park in Jakarta, Dunia Fantasi (Dufan), has stated that it will continue to enhance special services for visitors with disabilities. According to Corporate Communication of PT Jaya Ancol, Daniel Windriatmoko, currently, Dufan only has accessibility in the form of special pathways for wheelchair and elderly visitors.
"We are still in the process of perfecting special service facilities for individuals with disabilities according to their classifications, such as the visually impaired, the hearing impaired, the speech impaired, and various other disabilities," said Daniel Windriatmoko on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Daniel stated that, up to this point, Dufan's management is still striving for synergy with organizations or communities of individuals with disabilities in Indonesia to obtain more detailed advice and information regarding services for disabled visitors.
Due to the ongoing development of accessibility, he said, not all visitor groups can enjoy the amusement rides at Dufan. According to Daniel, Dufan prioritizes the safety of all visitors, both disabled and non-disabled.
"Dufan prioritizes Safety First for all visitors," said Daniel.
However, Dufan still has several rides considered safe by the management and allowed for disabled visitors. Some of these include the Bianglala, Doll Palace, Turangga-rangga, Indoor Stage, Hysteria Stage, and Premium Marunda.
Despite being disability-friendly, Dufan still has specific regulations for disabled visitors when enjoying the rides to ensure safety and enjoyment.
Among them, there needs to be a companion from the group of disabled individuals themselves while enjoying the rides. The companion here means being able to provide information that the ride will operate."
"Moving up and down, turning left and right, spinning, and so on, providing more information on sensory functions for individuals with disabilities so that they can comfortably enjoy the ride," said Daniel.
In addition to requiring a companion, disabled visitors enjoying the rides at Dufan are also advised not to be separated from the group while playing. "This is to facilitate oversight by Dufan staff during the amusement rides," he said.
Daniel urged disabled visitors to remain orderly and follow instructions from Dufan staff. "This is so they can experience comfort and safety while playing on the rides," he said.
