TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's net worth has reportedly soared to $151 billion following the massive success of the graphic chip maker in the AI space. According to The Street, NVIDIA Corp. recently reached a milestone of US$4 trillion market capitalization, emerging as the world’s most valuable company in modern times.
Propelled by the bright future of AI, let's take a closer look at the CEO’s net worth and the outlook of NVIDIA’s envy-inducing valued shares.
Jensen Huang’s Net Worth and Salary
As the co-founder of a thriving company, it is not surprising that Jensen Huang's net worth has reached US$151 billion
The sky-high value under his name is predominantly tied to his substantial shares in NVIDIA, the company he co-founded back in 1993. Based on a proxy statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Huang remains the largest shareholder of NVIDIA, amassing about 922,922,938 shares as of March 2025.
Business Insider reported that Jensen Huang received a base salary of US$996,514 for fiscal year 2024. On top of his hefty payouts, the CEO also took home a monumental compensation package that included US$26.7 million in stock awards, US$4 million in cash bonuses, as well as US$2.5 million for residential security, car, driver services, and other expenses.
NVIDIA’s US$4 Trillion Market Cap
On July 9, NVIDIA reached an exceptional market capitalization of US$4 trillion, standing steps ahead of Apple and Microsoft. The company burst into the market in 1993 when Jensen Huang, alongside Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem, founded it.
Several years later, in 1999, the trio decided to expand their reach into a more mainstream technology industry through their first-ever series of processing units for 3D applications, widely known as the graphics processing unit (GPU).
In 2010, Jensen Huang made a bold bet on AI that began with software and hardware developments to assist the prowess of artificial intelligence features in ChatGPT. Today, NVIDIA reaped the CEO’s decade-long venture, dominating the scene of data centers, gaming, and AI applications.
World’s Top 10 Richest Men
Driven by the meteoric success of NVIDIA, Jensen Huang claimed a spot among the world’s top ten richest men. His fearless investment in AI technology turned out to be a masterstroke, which helped skyrocket NVIDIA’s market value, from a base of US$2 trillion in 2024 into US$4 trillion a year later.
In an event hosted by venture capitalist, Huang shared that he has created more billionaires on his management team than any other CEO globally, as per AI Invest. With Huang at the helm as CEO, NVIDIA’s GPUs have not only revolutionized the gaming industry but also become the backbone of cutting-edge artificial intelligence.
Citing Fortune, the billionaire added, “I review everybody’s compensation up to this day,” Huang said. “I sort through all 42,000 employees, and 100% of the time I increase the company’s spend on [operating expenses]. And the reason for that is because you take care of people, everything else takes care of itself.”
How Jensen Huang Spends His Wealth
Throughout his tech career, Jensen Huang has been both an influential leader and a philanthropist. Together with his wife, he established the Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang Foundation in 2007 to fund education initiatives.
In 2019, the Internal Revenue Service reported that the foundation had made more than US$17 million in contributions. In the same year, Huang had a new building at his high school in Kentucky named after his name.
Beyond the extent of the foundation, Huang also donated millions of dollars to his alma mater, Oregon State University.
Jensen Huang’s net worth is a testament to his visionary leadership and the groundbreaking success of NVIDIA in the AI revolution. From humble beginnings in 1993 to steering a company now worth US$4 trillion, Huang has not only built a global tech empire but also secured his place among the world's wealthiest individuals.
