Megawati Hangestri on V-League's Top Scoring List After Red Sparks' 13-Game Winning Streak

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Volleyball player from Indonesia, Megawati Hangestri, is still able to compete in the ranks of the sharpest players in the South Korean Women's Volleyball League (V-League). She is the highest scorer in her team, Red Sparks, and is in third place on the overall top scorer list.
In the 22nd week, Sunday, January 26, Mega again proved her quality as one of the best attackers in the V-League. The outside hitter helped Red Sparks achieve their 13th consecutive victory by defeating AI Pepper 3-1 (10-25, 25-21, 25-16, and 25-17) at the Daejon Chungmu Gymnasium.

Megawati, who is nicknamed "Megatron", combined well with her teammate, Vanja Bukilic. She contributed 21 points, while Bukilic scored 23 points, the highest in this match.

The 13th consecutive win, which sharpened the record for the most consecutive wins in club history, put the Red Sparks in third place in the standings with 43 points, seven points behind the Pink Spiders who are at the top of the standings.

For Megawati, the additional 21 points in this match made her able to compete in the top three positions on the top scorer list. She now has 559 points, only losing to Victoria Danchak (IBK) who has collected 603 points and Giselle Silva (GS Caltex) with 587 points.
