TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Megawati Hangestri, a female volleyball athlete from Indonesia who plays for the Red Sparks team, scored 44 points when her team silenced Altos IBK with a score of 3-2 (25-21, 36-34, 23-25, 19-25, 15-12) in the continuation of the South Korean Volleyball League (V-League), Tuesday, January 14, 2024.
Megawati's sharpness was also reported by the All Indonesia Volleyball Association. "Megawati recorded a scoring record by scoring 44 points in one match in the V-League," PBVSI uploaded via the X account (twitter).
In this match, Red Sparks immediately dominated the game by winning the first two sets. The match became tighter when IBK Altos rose to avenge their defeat in the next two sets to make the score 2-2.
Both teams chased each other for points in the fifth or final set until finally Megawati and her friends managed to secure victory with a difference of three points at the end of the match.
In the match, Megawati performed brilliantly by scoring the highest points of all players with a success rate of 48.15 percent.
The athlete from Jember, East Java, outperformed IBK Altos' mainstay player Victoria Danchak who scored 41 points.
In terms of attack share and success, Megawati was in the top position by recording 45.25 percent and 48.15 percent, followed by her colleague Bukitrich with 27.43 percent and 28.36 percent, and Seungju Pyo with 8.38 percent and 26.67 percent.
The result made Megawati rise to second place in the temporary top scorer standings with a collection of 481 points. She is still 49 points behind the leader of the standings Victoria Danchak with 530 points.
With the victory, Megawati led the Red Sparks to 10 consecutive wins while securing third place in the temporary standings of the South Korean Volleyball League with 38 points.
Hillstate is in second place with 43 points, while the top position is still secured by Pink Spiders with 45 points.
