TEMPO.CO, Solo - Solo City chair of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), FX Hadi Rudyatmo, spoke up about the instruction from the PDIP Chairperson, Megawati Soekarnoputri, who asked the newly ianugurated regional heads from PDIP to postpone their departure for the retreat at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java.
The instruction came after the detention of the Secretary General of PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
According to Rudy, the instruction was issued by the PDIP Chair by considering the psychological condition of the regional leaders who are PDIP cadres following Hasto's detention.
"In my opinion, Mrs. Mega considers the psychological condition of these elected PDIP cadres (as regional leaders). With Hasto's case, it will affect their psyche during the retreat," said Rudy when met by journalists at the Solo City Regional Council Building, Central Java, on Friday, February 21, 2025.
Rudy is convinced that the inaugurated PDIP cadres will heed Megawati's order as the PDIP Chairperson.
"PDIP cadres always obey the order. If the retreat is postponed, it doesn't mean they won't participate, but it's postponed. Perhaps the retreat will take place at another location and time," he said.
According to Rudy, Megawati is more concerned about the coordination with their regions to carry out various programs.
"Mrs. Mega's consideration is, 'it's better for you to hold coordination meetings with the secretaries and your staff to adapt and implement policy programs as promised during the campaign," he said.
Last night, it was revealed that the PDIP Chairperson, Megawati Soekarnoputri, issued an instruction asking the regional leaders who are PDIP cadres to postpone their departure to Magelang.
The instruction from Megawati is contained in Letter Number 7294/IN/DPP/II/2025 dated Thursday, February 20, 2025.
The PDIP spokesperson, Guntur Romli, confirmed the existence of the letter. However, Guntur refused to provide further comments regarding the instruction. "Please quote the letter without adding any further information," he said when contacted by Tempo last night.
