TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PT Pertamina (Persero), Oki Muraza, said that the distribution of fuel and LPG to disaster-affected areas in Sumatra is continuously being improved. However, gas stations in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra that had stopped operating are now confirmed to be operational again.
"We have successfully reopened 90 percent of SPBUs that had previously stopped," he said in a coordination meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, December 1, 2025.
According to Oki, the current challenges in the field include disruptions to distribution networks along the fuel and LPG supply lines. The supply of LPG in Aceh remains limited, so it must be supplied from Dumai. The Medan-Aceh route is still experiencing many disruptions.
Meanwhile, Oki said that Pertamina's tankers carrying Pertalite and Pertamax have docked in North Sumatra after failing to deliver last week. Several tank truck fleets from southern Sumatra, Java, and Kalimantan also support fuel distribution in North Sumatra.
Pertamina also provides aviation fuel stock for humanitarian aid operations by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). "And also provides fuel for heavy equipment operations and assistance to the community through emergency response posts," he said.
As is known, a week ago, natural disasters occurred in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Floods and landslides damaged settlements, destroyed public facilities, and cut off road access, making it difficult to evacuate victims and distribute aid.
According to data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as of November 29, 2025, the death toll due to floods and landslides in Aceh is 47 people, 51 are missing, and 8 are injured. Then in North Sumatra, 166 people died and 145 went missing. In West Sumatra, there were 90 deaths, 85 missing, and 10 injured.
Oki Muraza ensured that Pertamina remains present to provide humanitarian assistance in this disaster. "We are committed from the Pertamina Group to ensure that energy continues to flow regularly and safely to all people throughout the archipelago," he said.
