TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto is set to receive a visit from the President of the Republic of Peru, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, on Monday, August 11, 2025. Zegarra arrived in Indonesia on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 4.00 PM.
The Presidential Secretariat's Office of Press, Media, and Information reported Zegarra's arrival as a return visit from Prabowo's previous visit to Peru.
Zegarra arrived at the VIP Terminal of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at around 4.00 PM local time. Her arrival was greeted with a welcoming ceremony, accompanied by the firing of cannons to mark the arrival of the head of state.
Upon arrival, Zegarra was welcomed by the Indonesian Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, the Peruvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmer Schialer Salcedo, the Governor of Banten Andra Soni, the Indonesian Ambassador to Peru Ricky Suhendar, and the Peruvian Ambassador to Indonesia Luis Ral Tsuboyama Galván.
Upon entering the terminal, Zegarra paid her respects to the flags of Peru and Indonesia before walking past the lineup of honor guards standing along the welcoming route.
Following the welcoming ceremony, she proceeded directly to the hotel where she will be staying during her time in Jakarta.
On Thursday, November 14, 2024, Prabowo Subianto visited Peru's President Dina Boluarte at the Government Palace in Lima. During the visit, Prabowo held a tête-à-tête meeting to discuss the potential cooperation between Indonesia and Peru.
One of the outcomes of the meeting was the commitment of Indonesia and Peru to finalize the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) within the next six months. Prabowo was confident that the agreement could be signed during Boluarte's visit to Indonesia with her delegation.
The meeting between Prabowo and Boluarte also involved discussions on cooperation in the eradication of narcotics, as well as the shared views of both countries on the international stage. However, no details were provided regarding these issues.
