TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police deployed 4,771 joint personnel to secure the 2024 Christmas celebrations until New Year's Eve in the Jakarta area. Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, said that the security would involve various elements, including the TNI, local governments, and personnel from the National Police Headquarters.
"Polda Metro Jaya has prepared 4,771 joint personnel, consisting of 1,839 Satgasda personnel, 1,655 Satgasares personnel, BKO TNI, headquarters, and 1,277 local government personnel," said Ade Ary in his statement, Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
Ade Ary explained that security focuses on a number of strategic locations, such as places of worship, crowded centers, tourist attractions, and main transportation routes. This is done to ensure the smooth running of community activities during the long holiday.

In addition, the public is asked to celebrate Christmas 2024 and New Year in an orderly manner and prioritize the spirit of tolerance. He also emphasized that Polda Metro Jaya together with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) will work together to ensure that the celebration runs smoothly.
"We must increase the spirit of tolerance and empathy at this moment. We urge the public to celebrate Christmas and New Year safely, peacefully, and orderly. Let's make this moment an opportunity to strengthen togetherness and build empathy for each other," said Ade Ary.
