TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Police have identified the courier for the delivery of a pig's head without its ears to Tempo. "We are still conducting the investigation. Based on the investigation, we have already identified the sender, the Gojek (an online motorcycle taxi service) courier who delivered it. We have examined them," said Brigadier General Djuhandhani Raharjdjo Puro, who heads the Criminal Investigation Department of the Directorate of General Crime (Dittipidum) of the National Police, at the Police HQ on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

The police have not yet released the identity of the courier. Tempo's security camera footage shows that the package was brought by a courier wearing a Gojek helmet, riding a white Honda Beat motorbike. The delivery occurred at the Tempo Editorial Office on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. The intended recipient was Francisca Christy Rosana, also known as Cica, a journalist on Tempo's political desk and the host of Tempo's podcast Bocor Alus Politik.

Djuhandhani explained that the courier received the package from a Grab driver, another ride-hailing service. He noted, "There is a break in the chain of custody here, as the Gojek driver received the package from the Grab driver."

He did not clarify whether this handover was arranged through the respective online applications or occurred directly in person. When reporters asked whether the two drivers were known to each other, Djuhandhani declined to comment, stating, "That is still being investigated."

In addition to the disturbing delivery of the pig's head, Tempo also received a package containing six rat carcasses, all with their heads severed. This package was thrown into the yard of Tempo's office in South Jakarta on Saturday, March 22, 2025. This package lacked any information about the sender or the intended recipient.

In response to these incidents, Tempo filed a report to the National Police Criminal Investigation Department on March 21, 2025, accompanied by the Journalist Safety Committee (KKJ). The report alleges violations of Article 18 of Law No. 40 of 1999 concerning the Press and Article 336 of the Indonesian Penal Code, which addresses threats of violence or death.
