TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesa's Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) has identified 27,932 accounts belonging to employees of state-owned enterprises that are suspected of receiving social assistance (social assistance).
PPATK also discovered an account belonging to a doctor suspected of receiving social assistance funds.
“We also found a doctor, along with several others who require further examination to determine whether they are eligible to receive this type of social assistance,” said Fithriadi, Deputy of Reporting and Compliance Supervision at PPATK, when confirmed on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Fithriadi stated that PPATK continues to cross-check the data of social assistance recipients against the account owners’ profiles. He suspects there are still accounts that are not eligible to receive social assistance.
Regarding the misdirected social assistance, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf previously said they will investigate the discovery of thousands of accounts claiming employment in various professions.
The Ministry of Social Affairs, in cooperation with PPATK, will also verify 30 million other social assistance recipient accounts. The verification process includes tracing the recipients’ work backgrounds, economic conditions, and involvement in online gambling activities.
Minister Saifullah Yusuf, commonly known as Gus Ipul, explained that the data of social assistance recipients fluctuates due to daily events such as deaths, births, and the formation of new families. Therefore, with the support of related stakeholders, his ministry will continue verifying the data of social assistance recipients to ensure the assistance reaches the intended targets.
He added that the process of updating and verifying data will be conducted before each social assistance disbursement. The updated data will serve as the reference for the Ministry of Social Affairs when distributing social assistance funds to the public.
“If we consistently do this and receive public participation, I believe our data will become more accurate,” said Gus Ipul when contacted on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
