TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting with ministries under the help of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, December 9, 2024.
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti said President Prabowo asked several ministers to address potential issues that may arise during the Christmas and New Year holiday season of 2025.
"The President conveyed several points to ensure the Christmas and New Year celebrations do not cause problems within society," said Abdul Mu'ti on Monday, December 9, 2024.
Abdul Mu'ti said that the meeting discussed anticipatory measures for various issues, including high citizen mobility and disaster preparedness.
During the limited meeting, the ministries also gave reports on ongoing programs. Some of the present ministry officials were from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Health.
"We discussed programs that have been implemented and what will be implemented," said Abdul Mu'ti.
Abdul Mu'ti stated that Prabowo requested the ministers to implement Quick Wins to accelerate certain programs. However, he did not provide further details on this matter.
Quick wins are easy and quick initiative steps that can be achieved within one year to kickstart the implementation of a bureaucratic reform program.
"Prabowo also asked each ministry to coordinate and collaborate with each other," said Abdul Mu'ti.
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning regarding the possibility of extreme weather, which is predicted to persist until April 2025. Especially between Christmas 2024 and the New Year 2025 holidays, a 20 percent increase in rainfall is expected in various regions.
"Extreme weather is expected to occur starting on January 20 under the influence of a weak La Nina phenomenon, which could increase rainfall by 3-4 percent," said BMKG Head Dwikorita Karnawati in an official release.
