TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Spokesperson of the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Rolliansyah Soemirat, explained that President Prabowo Subianto had the opportunity to deliver a speech in front of the Turkish Parliament during his state visit to the country.
Rolliansyah described the invitation to speak before the Turkish parliament as a form of honor.
"This is a very rare invitation in Turkey. Only a few heads of state have been invited, including the President of Palestine," Rolliansyah said at a press conference on Thursday.
In his speech at the Turkish Parliament, Indonesian President emphasized the importance of strengthening solidarity between the two countries, joint support for the struggle of Palestine, and the desire of both countries to cooperate with other nations in creating a fair and prosperous global order.
During the state visit, Rolliansyah added that three Government-to-Government (G2G) agreements and five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in the business sector had been signed.
"The details can be reviewed in the relevant press release from the Government Minister and also from the Presidential Media Bureau at the time of the signing," he said.
In addition to the state visit, the President attended the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on August 11 at the Turkish government's invitation. The forum is an initiative by the Turkish government that invites various stakeholders from countries around the world.
"At the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Bapak President conveyed Indonesia's vision and priorities in diplomacy in the current geopolitical situation, including Indonesia's desire to support global cooperation to address various global challenges," Rolliansyah said.
Prabowo emphasized that global challenges cannot be addressed by individual countries separately.
"There are already too many examples where even the strongest countries cannot handle global challenges alone," he said.
During the forum, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono also had the opportunity to attend a trilateral meeting.
