TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit at the Hwabaek International Convention Center (HICO) in Gyeongju, South Korea, on Friday, October 31, 2025.
According to the Presidential Secretariat report, Prabowo arrived at HICO around 09:36 local time. The Head of the Planning and Management Department of APEC Preparatory Office for APEC 2025, Kim Ji-joon, welcomed the Head of State before proceeding to the main meeting room on the 3rd floor.
In the main meeting room, Prabowo was personally greeted by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung. The two leaders then captured the moment with a photo together.
During today's APEC meeting, Prabowo, along with other APEC leaders, will attend the first session of the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM). This session will address the theme "Towards a More Connected, Resilient Region and Beyond," highlighting the importance of strengthening connectivity, economic resilience, and cross-regional collaboration.
During this session, Prabowo is scheduled to present Indonesia's views and ideas on strategic steps to build a more connected, innovative, and prosperous Asia-Pacific region.
Prabowo previously arrived in South Korea on Thursday, October 30, 2025. The Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft carrying Prabowo and his entourage landed at Gimhae Air Base in Busan at 22:20 local time.
Accompanying the Head of State on the journey from Jakarta to South Korea was Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
