TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto will replace Immanuel Ebenezer, known as Noel, as the Deputy Minister of Manpower if proven to be involved in corruption at the Ministry of Manpower. Prabowo is currently awaiting the official statement from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The statement was made by the presidential spokesperson and State Secretary Minister, Prasetyo Hadi, after KPK arrested Noel.
"If it is proven later on, replacement will be conducted as soon as possible," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Prabowo, according to Prasetyo, has already received a report from the KPK. The Head of State respects the legal process carried out by the KPK. "Prabowo conveys that it is within the legal domain. He respects the process within the KPK and allows the legal process to be carried out as it should be," he said.
The Gerindra Party politician stated that the government is concerned about one of the members of the Red and White Cabinet being allegedly involved in corruption. Prasetyo mentioned that Prabowo has repeatedly reminded his subordinates to be cautious. "Our spirit is the spirit not to abuse the trust given," he added.
Today, KPK conducted a sting operation at the Ministry of Manpower. KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Cahyanto confirmed the arrest. "It is true, there was a sting operation," said Fitroh to Tempo on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
One of those arrested was Noel. Three law enforcement officers stated that in the operation, KPK apprehended approximately 20 people. Apart from Immanuel, there were also level II officials at the Ministry of Manpower.
Immanuel Ebenezer is a former supporter and activist for Joko Widodo. He is the Chairman of Prabowo Mania 08, which supported Prabowo's presidential candidacy in 2024. Previously, Prabowo Mania was known as Jokowi Mania, a volunteer team that supported Jokowi during the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections.
