TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto unveiled the theme and logo for Indonesia's 80th Independence Day anniversary at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The launch was attended by members of the Red and White Cabinet, heads of state-owned enterprises (SOE), as well as ambassadors both in person and virtually. "With Bismilahirohmanirahim, I unveil the logo and theme for the 80th Independence Day of Indonesia," Prabowo said.
The logo features the number 80 in rounded red font without breaks. Within the number, an empty line encircles the inside of the numbers 8 and 0. The theme for Indonesia's 80th Independence Day is "Unity, Sovereignty, Prosperous People, and Advanced Indonesia."
President Prabowo emphasized that this theme must be the benchmark. "It should not be just a slogan or a mantra. The logo design is also a work of our nation's children," said the Head of State.
State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi explained that the selection of the 80th Independence Day logo was carried out by the Ministry of Creative Economy in collaboration with the Indonesian Creative Designer Association. Bram Patria Yoshugi, a designer, won the logo competition.
Prior to this, Deputy State Secretary Minister Juri Ardiantoro announced that the launch was planned for Friday, July 18, 2025. However, the launch was canceled, with the palace not disclosing the reason for the postponement.
Presidential Communication Office Head Hasan Nasbi stated that the state commemoration ceremony for Indonesia's 80th Independence Day on August 17, 2025, will be held in Jakarta. Hasan mentioned that State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi has formed a committee. "The Presidential Communication Office is also part of the committee," said Hasan Nasbi at his office in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
