TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The process of uncovering the mystery behind the death of a Foreign Ministry diplomat named Arya Daru Pangayunan is still ongoing. The police are still awaiting the final results of the victim's autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The autopsy process is known to be directly handled by the forensic team from Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM). The entire autopsy procedure was conducted at the Forensic and Body Handling Installation at RSCM.
RSCM forensic doctor, Ade Firmansyah Sugiharto, revealed that the RSCM forensic team not only conducted external autopsies on the body of the Foreign Ministry diplomat. "The autopsy was done thoroughly," Ade said in a brief message to Tempo on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Ade stated that the preliminary autopsy results from the RSCM forensic team have been completed. The examination samples have now been sent to the Indonesian National Police's Center for Forensic Laboratory (Puslabfor). "Waiting for the results from Puslabfor," said Ade.
Currently, the police are still waiting for the results of the autopsy process to determine the next steps of the investigation. "Let's just wait for the autopsy results," said the Director of General Crime Investigation of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Grand Commissioner Wira Satya Triputra, when met on Monday, July 14, 2025.
The Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Grand Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, stated that the police prioritize the principle of scientific crime investigation in uncovering the case of Arya Daru's death. One of them is through the implementation of an autopsy on the victim's body.
Ade stated that the forensic team will conduct a comprehensive examination of the victim's organs to determine the exact cause of death. "A laboratory examination of the internal organs and their pathology will be conducted," Ade said in a press conference on Friday, July 11, 2025.
Currently, the investigators are still waiting for the results of the laboratory examination of the internal organs. "Then we are also waiting for the pathology examination process," said Ade in front of the press.
The Central Jakarta Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro, previously stated that Arya Daru's body was immediately taken to RSCM after being found. "The police will soon conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of the victim's death," said Susatyo in his statement on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
The Foreign Ministry diplomat was found dead on Tuesday morning, July 8, 2025, around 08.00 AM. His body was found with his head wrapped in tape and his body covered with a blanket in room number 105 at the Guest House Gondia, Menteng, Central Jakarta. His body was buried at the Public Cemetery (TPU), Sunten Cemetery, Banguntapan, Bantul, on Wednesday afternoon, July 9, 2025.
