TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - TikTok Indonesia reported that around 8 million creators on its platform have earned income through monetization features. Meanwhile, its e-commerce arms, TikTok Shop and Tokopedia, now host approximately 21 million sellers.
Hilmi Adrianto, Head of Public Policy and Government Relations at TikTok Indonesia, said the large number of sellers on the platform has contributed significantly to economic activity.
"Out of the 8 million creators, 63 percent have also earned more than the Minimum Wage. There are also numerous MSMEs that have been assisted through e-commerce," he said during a hearing with Commission I of the House of Representatives in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
According to Hilmi, more than 5 million businesses and MSMEs are now using TikTok. The company has also provided training to around 180,000 creators and MSMEs.
Hilmi emphasized that Indonesia is a key market for TikTok globally, with approximately 125 million active users in the country.
"Users in Indonesia not only use TikTok for entertainment, but also for education, promoting their businesses, building their lives, and sharing local stories from Indonesia with the world," he added.
However, Hilmi declined to disclose TikTok Indonesia’s total earnings when questioned by Commission I member Nico Siahaan.
"I don't have the income data at the moment, as there are also many aspects from the e-commerce side, as well as from the video distribution platform side, so we need to consolidate that first," he said.
